About Nail Bite
Nail Bite has built their reputation on a singular premise: heavy metal has no limits.
Hailing from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Nail Bite has carved out a unique space in heavy music through an uncompromising commitment to musical experimentation. Blending the intensity of modern metal with unconventional influences from across the musical spectrum, the band refuses to be confined by genre. Often described as “avant-garde metal”, Nail Bite oscillates between crushing heaviness and infectious melodies, delivered through a mix of singing, screaming, and extreme metal growls.
Nail Bite quickly established themselves on major festival stages, including Louder Than Life, Inkarceration, and Blue Ridge Rock Festival. The band’s momentum accelerated when their 2022 single “Cut It Out” went viral, amassing over 50 million views across social media and introducing their sound to audiences worldwide.
Formed in 2021 by Johnnie Bitting, the band’s original lineup includes Johnnie Bitting (guitar/vocals), Lonna Nelson (vocals), Caiden Nelson (keyboards), and John Bitting (bass). Following the release of their album Nostalgia in early 2025, Nail Bite continued pushing their creative boundaries with the EP Anomaly, featuring hit tracks “Velvet Nights” and “Anomaly”.
With a rapidly expanding international audience and a growing catalog of genre-defying releases, Nail Bite continues to challenge expectations and push the boundaries of heavy music.
